Privacy Policy

The short version: we process your PDF in memory and never store it. There's no account, no file storage, and no database of your documents.

In memory only

What happens to the files you upload

  • Your PDF is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our server.
  • The server reads the file into memory, extracts the text, and identifies fields like employer, pay period, earnings, taxes, and deductions.
  • The extracted values are sent back to your browser. The uploaded file and the extracted data are then discarded; they only ever existed in the memory of that one request.
  • We do not write uploads to disk, save them to a database, put them in file or object storage, or send them to any third party (including AI or OCR services).
  • We do not log file contents or extracted values.
  • Social Security numbers and taxpayer identification numbers are masked to the last four digits before anything is sent back to you.
  • The CSV file is generated in your browser from the preview data.

What we do collect

  • A usage cookie. To enforce the free tier we set one first-party cookie (stubcsv_quota) holding today's date and how many conversions you've used. It contains no personal information and expires after 48 hours.
  • A salted hash of your IP address, in memory. To stop abuse we count conversions per IP address per day. We store a one-way salted hash, not the address itself, only in server memory, and it resets daily.
  • Standard hosting logs. Our hosting provider (Vercel) records basic request metadata such as time, URL path, status code, and IP address for security and reliability. These logs never include the contents of your file.
  • Payment details, if you buy. Payments are handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We receive your email and purchase status; we never see your card number.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell or share your data.
  • We don't use your documents to train models.
  • We don't run third-party advertising trackers.
  • We don't require an account.

Sample files

The sample pay stub, W-2, and 1099-NEC on this site are synthetic. Every name, address, identifier, and amount is fictional.

Your choices

You can clear the usage cookie at any time in your browser settings. Because we don't keep your documents, there is nothing for us to delete, export, or correct. For payment records, contact us and we'll help.
